D and Ph.D, Graduate of the University Paul Sabatier in Toulouse, France. She first served as Medical Instructor in Biochemistry at Toulouse-Purpan Hospital, and assistant-professor in Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine-Rangueil in Toulouse. After several postdoctoral stays at the Hadassah Medical School in Jerusalem, Israel, she entered CNRS as research fellow (CR) in 1985, first in the INSERM Unit 101 (Pr. Louis Douste-Blazy), then in the INSERM Unit 466 (Director Pr. Robert Salvayre). Currently, she holds the position of research director (DR1) and is team-leader of the INSERM team " Lipid Peroxidation Signalling and Vascular Diseases " since 2006 at INSERM Unit 1048, Institute of Metabolic and Cardiovascular Diseases (Director Pr. Angelo Parini), Toulouse, France. Dr. Negre-Salvayre is author or co-author of more than 200 PubMed-indexed publications and national or international communications. Her H-Index is 58, source Web of Science (Negre-Salvayre or NegreSalvayre or Salvayre a). She is Associate Editor for the British Journal of Pharmacology, Free Radical Research, Antioxidants, and Free Radicals in Biology and Medicine. She is expert or external referee for international academic and non-academic councils including INSERM, HCERES, FDG German Research Fundation, Israel Science Fundation, Medical Research Council. She is member of The New French Society for Atherosclerosis, the french Reflection group on Cardiovascular Research, the Society for Free Radical Research and the 4-HNE-Club. Dr. Negre-Salvayre is expert in the field of lipid and sphingolipid biochemistry, lipid peroxidation and oxidative stress in the pathophysiology of atherosclerosis.
